What I got + Drink Rating

  • Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with Whole Milk (Strawberry Puree) | 9/10

  • Strawberry matcha has got to be the best I've ever tried here. It’s the OG for me, the first strawberry matcha I’ve ever had probably… and since then, I’ve fallen in love. As a student, the prices tend to be a bit expensive, but I preserve these pristine matcha drinks as a reward or special occasion study treat when I really need some extra motivation to lock in (with a matcha latte of course).

  • The drink is sweet, with real strawberry puree (not just a syrup) and the matcha is strong and creamy. I love it.

Study Potential Score: 9/10

Studying at Momo Cafe can be a hit or miss, but if you find a spot on the upper floor, you will not be disappointed. The lower floor is loud and usually reserved for individuals eating at the in-house Japanese restaurants while the upper floor is more for cafe customers. There are not that many tables, but if you do manage to snag a table, there are plenty of outlets under the seats to charge your devices.

The cafe is also open late into the evening so if you want to pull an all-day or all-evening or even just an all-morning study session, you have ample time to do so. Again, I would recommend coming early in the morning if you can to maximize your chances of grabbing a spot.

Coming to study-ability, though, the upper floor tends to be a bit quieter and has beautiful aesthetics that make me, personally, feel motivated to do my work and do it well.

Picture Potential Score: 8/10

If you look at the image gallery below, you will notice that this cafe gives top-notch picturesque vibes. With the pink and green theme, gorgeous foliage and hanging plants, quaint cafe and espresso machine area, and cute stickers on the plastic drink cup itself, getting an aesthetic picture of your drink won’t be hard to do.

Drink Variety: 10/10

This cafe specializes in matcha, but it also makes wonderful coffee (or at least I’ve heard from my friends). Either way, you will find a drink you love! I've seen gorgeous cappuccinos, sweet and strong lattes, and perhaps the crowd favorite, matcha soft serve (not a drink, but still in the same lane).

If you’re coming here for a sweet treat, however, there is no way you will be disappointed.

From artisanal croissants filled with chocolate or pistachio to unique pinwheel desserts to brownies or other fun items, there are plenty of items to try alongside your bev of the day. No salty options, but you can check out the attached Japanese restaurant too! Overall, it’s a great place to buy a pick-me-up-study-treat when you’re in the thick of midterm season.

Customer Experience: 9/10

The baristas here are amazing and very kind. They make your drinks very quickly and there's rarely any backlog or long waiting times. They are super kind and make sure to follow your preferences regarding milk choice, ice quantity, sweetness, etc. Love them!

My Review

Overall: This is a great cafe to come to, but make sure you come early if you plan on sitting here for a while to study. Try out the amazing Japanese drinks- even if you are not a huge matcha fan, the strawberry matcha will most likely change your mind!
